The HAODS website team have finally got to grips with the automatic emailing tool. It seems to be working and we know how to configure it, trigger it &c. Excuse the test emails, some of you will have received them. The tool is actually quite easy to operate. You HAODS chaps create articles with pictures that go into the news page (that's easy enough! and thanks, Bill, Daisy, Julie, Raymond, Rebecca, Claire &c for doing so). All we need need to do is specify a date and time when the newsletter is to go out and then the tool will automatically create a newsletter with all the news from the last 2-3 months. That's it! The end result is that all registered users will receive an email on the specified interval. Samantha Fields is taking on the role of Stage Whispers Editor and I will need to chat with her about how we are going to use this tool and how/whether it will fit into what she wants to do. Stage Whispers is about to undergo a resurgence and revaluation. If this new tool helps create SW in a new way then we may just use it. The HAODS web team |
