John Inman was just 13 when he made his first appearance on stage at the South Pier Blackpool. He was born John Frederick Inman in Preston on June 28th 1935, but always looked upon Blackpool as his home town. At the age of 21 he joined a touring repertory company and it was during this time that he played at the Kenton Theatre.
