Here’s some essential
information about our popular Annual Fun Run:
1. The run will start
at 11.00 am. Make sure you allow plenty of time for parking and
registering (if you haven’t registered in advance).
2. This year we want to
encourage fun and families – anyone who wants to do the course in
fancy dress is most welcome. And reduced fees for children: Adult
£10 on the day (£8 in advance; children 15 to 10 years £5 on the
day (£4 in advance; under 10 free entry.
3. Registering in
advance, by post, saves you time as well as money as you won’t
have to queue to register on the day – just use your safety pins
to fix your number to your front.
4. The entrance to the
Regatta Meadow is on the Berkshire side of the river, next to the
Leander Club and will be signposted.
5. Be prepared to park
in the town as there is always the risk that the Royal Regatta
Management may consider that ground conditions would result in too
much damage to the grassed areas near the start. Recommended Parking Areas –
either side of the Town Hall: Greys Road RG9 2AA; King’s Road RG9
2DG.
6. Public toilets are
available in the town centre, located at the Railway Station and at
the Greys Road and King’s Road car parks. Changing facilities are
not available.
7. Medals will be
awarded to all finishers and a presentation will be made to the
winning man and woman respectively.
8. Free soft drinks
will be available to runners wearing an official number during and
at the finish of the run.As this is a Fun Run, no results will be
published.
9. Sorry, no bicycles –
these can cause accidents. But well-behaved dogs welcome.
10. Participants take
part in this event entirely at their own risk.
