Once again the AGM is upon us. The retiring committee would like to invite all the membership to join them for a glass of wine and a few nibbles from 7.30 on Monday 27th 2010 in the Green Room. We are very proud to welcome our truly committed President, Simon Williams to chair our AGM again this year.
The purpose of an AGM is to report back on the previous year (that has rapidly slipped past us!) and to elect the new committee to carry us forward to 2011. This year's committee has done a great job, with lots of new, innovative ideas like our Open Mic nights, and Play readings - and of course, my particular campaign - on line booking! I have been proud to work with them.
However, some committee members are finding it difficult to commit as much time as they would like, so one or two will be stepping down, which leaves spaces that urgently need to be filled. The main post to fill would be of our secretary, Martin Jarvis, who, because of now greater commitment required by the Kenton, has decided to step down as Honorary Secretary, but will remain as assistant secretary. The job of Honorary Secretary carries vast responsibilities, so I will not pretend the job is easy, but Martin would be there 100% to support any newcomer. I would welcome any nominations for the post. If you think you can do it, then please contact me as soon as possible. If there is more than one nomination, then there would be a ballot by the membership to elect their favourite candidate. Nominations for the committee can be taken from the floor on the night.
This is your Society - we would love to see you at the AGM to voice your opinions, make suggestions for the future and to hear reports on the previous year.
