| Daisy's Charity Night Success! |
| Written by Samantha Fields | |
Daisy O'Halloran organised a wonderful night of entertainment on Friday 12 August, to raise funds for the Milton Keynes children's charity Ride High and for HAODS. The evening included performances from old hands to those who had never before performed in public, and there were many faces familiar to the HAODS crowd with songs from Jersey Boys, Bleak Angel, Howard Timberlake, Claire Wallis, Karen du Plessis, Mike Rowbottom and Samantha Fields. The music ranged from Musical Theatre to pop to jazz to comic songs, with each performer bringing something new to the stage. There was an amazing turnout with every seat filled. The audience were very appreciative and the feedback has been nothing but positive. The event was extremely successful, not just from an entertainment point of view but also as a fundraiser. An amazing £406 was raised for Ride High - an amount which surpassed all expectations! Thank you to everyone who performed in, attended or supported this event, and particular thanks to Tim Balmford who, as well as performing, was also a superb sound man for the whole evening. Also, special thanks to the social committee and those who ran the bar and helped Daisy with the organisation. This musical evening was just one of the ways that Daisy has been raising money for the charity Ride High. For the last few months she has been training and preparing herself ready to climb Mount Kilimanjaro next month. Ride High works with children who come from disadvantaged homes and helps them to have a future. Daisy has worked with some of the children supported by the charity and seen for herself just how much they gain from the charity's help. If you would like to support Daisy and her climb for chariy then you can donate online at http://www.everyclick.com/daisyclimbskili or contact Daisy directly to find out how you can help. We wish her the best of luck with her climb and lok forward to hearing about her success when she returns.
