Hopefully most HAODS members will know that the society has a website (!) but the majority of HAODS members will have no inkling that HAODS is also online in the web space known as Facebook. I'll make a guess that a majority of members will not even have a clue as to what Facebook is... To put it simply Facebook is a place where people keep in touch with friends.
It is designed in such a way that it is a great way to meet and
greet new chums and keep up on with what your existing friends are
doing. Everyone has their own personal blog and an associated profile.
People join like-minded groups and they share information about things
dear to each of their hearts. There are countless groups on facebook
but there are now three specifically created for HAODS members.
The
first is a group dedicated to HAODS members in general, here you can
keep in touch with HAODS gossip and perhaps get in contact with other
members.
It can be found here - just click on the picture
The second HAODS group is dedicated specifically to the last show we did - Return to the Forbidden Planet. The cast and other interested members are keeping
in touch and have been swapping gossip on the show. To view this group click on the poster.
The latest HAODS group is dedicated specifically to the latest show - The Boyfriend. The cast and other interested members are now invited to join so that they can keep
in touch and start swapping gossip on the new show. It is a place where cast
members can express themselves and have a bit of light relief at the
same time. To view this group click on the poster.
If you are interested in joining either of these online groups then
just visit facebook and join up and add yourself to a group.
People join Facebook for the following reasons: Join Facebook groups to
meet people like you or browse the profiles to find new friends.
Facebook's classmates and co-worker search is good for finding friends
too. You can keep track of friends, Facebook tells you when your
friends are updating their profiles, adding to their blogs or have some
other news on their website. It allows you to add to your own personal
or group photo album, you can use the blog feature to create your own
simple blog. There is also an excellent search and browse feature for
people on Facebook allowing you to find old mates and colleagues
online...
The more people that join the merrier. It helps HAODS to have
thriving communities on the net. You may not always see the point in
these things but the young do! and the future of the society is in
their hands. We look forward to seeing you there.
