raymond-and-the-supremes.jpgFifty or so members braved the snow on Saturday 4th February to celebrate the coming of age of one of our most revered members. Leah Corlett, star of far too many HAODS and Henley Players productions to mention, thought that she was just going for dinner with a few friends. Little did she know that the "few friends" turned out to have organised supper and a cabaret in the form of Raymond Burton, accompanied by David Harrison on Keyboards and Paul Drummer on percussion, who sang all her favourite songs and set the evening off with a swing. It was not long before the audience - including Leah, were on their feet boogie-ing to the beat. Leah was showered with flowers, presents, cards and good wishes by all those present. Many of whom said that they would not have ventured out on such a snowy night had it not been for the fact that the party was for Leah. Leah has won countless awards for her acting, including one for leah-and-wendy.jpgplaying a horse in Animal Farm... and we could not even see her face! Whatever part she plays, she is always totally in character, and no matter how small the part, Leah is always the one that the audience remembers! You know the old actors adage, never work with children or animals - well, HAODS and Henley Players have a slight variation on that one... never work with children, animals or Leah! All our good wishes go to our dear friend Leah on her 90th birthday - and here is to many more!
