Readings & Auditions

Wednesday 7 September 2011, 7.30pm The Studio

This classic piece from Dylan Thomas will be performed in the Studio for two nights at the end of October and will take the form of actors broadcasting in the radio studio in 1954. There will be a small intrigue around the actors, to add to the production. The bonus of this is that the main bulk of the script will be read directly from the script as if it was being broadcast, with minimal learning of lines involved! Authentic Welsh accents are essential! As there will be considerable doubling up only one character need be auditioned for and other parts will be allocated.

HAODS are proud to invite you to sit in on a recording of Dylan Thomas' most famous "play for voices" as it is broadcast to the nation sometime in 1954. But as the all-seeing narrator invites the audience to listen to the dreams and innermost thoughts of the inhabitants of an imaginary small Welsh Village, Llareggub (which is incidentally, "bugger all" spelt backwards!) is all that it seems between the members of the cast...
